Patient Services Representative

We are seeking an experienced Patient Service Representative to join an outpatient healthcare team. This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional with experience in patient registration, insurance verification, referrals, scheduling, Epic EMR, and high-volume call environments .

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients in person and by phone.
• Greet patients and provide professional, courteous customer service.
• Address patient questions and concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Check patients in and out, collect co-payments, provide receipts, and reconcile payments.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information in CS-Link/Epic .
• Schedule patient appointments and complete accurate patient registration.
• Process and track referrals and insurance authorizations.
• Verify medical insurance coverage, benefits, and patient responsibilities.
• Handle patient and provider correspondence.
• Explain healthcare policies, procedures, services, and appointment information to patients.
• Manage incoming calls in a high-volume call environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements.
• Sanitize and maintain the workspace according to department guidelines.
• Perform other administrative and patient service duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an outpatient clinic .
• Previous experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans .
• Previous Epic EMR experience required.
• Experience working in a high call volume environment .
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.

• 2+ years of recent experience as a Patient Service Representative.
• Understanding of medical terminology .
• Experience with CS-Link/Epic .
• Previous experience in a busy outpatient or medical office environment.
