Registered Nurse, Ambulatory Pediatrics, 36 hours (Days/Evenings / Rotating Saturdays)

Position Overview Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Pediatric Clinic, Full Time (36 hours per week, 4 days; days/evenings with rotating Saturdays). The pediatric ambulatory nurse is an integral member of the healthcare team, actively participating in patient care coordination and transition of care along the care continuum. Responsibilities Adhere to the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Provide professional performance and direct patient care. Perform nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum. Accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes using the nursing department's model of care and in accordance with established agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice. Education and Licensure Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Current RN licensure in the state of Massachusetts in good standing (or ability to obtain reciprocity license prior to start). Current basic life support (BLS) certification. PALS certification may be required for some units. Knowledge and Skills Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with team members, patients, and families. Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work. Multilingual skills (beyond English) preferred for patient populations served. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification required for certain practice areas. Analytical ability to solve clinical nursing issues and conduct quality improvement projects. Ability to delegate appropriate patient care activities. Physical ability to meet core job responsibilities. Ability to manage stress related to patient care and organizational changes. Knowledge of childhood/adult immunization; DME, VNA.PA, and school forms; telephone triage; PIV skills (if applicable); population health; and care coordination. 2–3 years pediatric experience required, preferably in an inpatient setting; 1–2 years ambulatory experience preferred. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $38.05 – $75.33 per hour (based on qualifications).
