Registered Nurse, MICU B, 36 Hours (Days/Nights / Rotating Weekends)

Position Details Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Medical Intensive Care Unit B (MICU‑B) Schedule: 36‑hour shifts (Days/Nights with rotating weekends) Department BMC houses two medical intensive care units: MICU‑A (17 beds) and MICU‑B (10 beds). Patients in these units include those with multisystem failure, renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and sepsis. Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, education). Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data. Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization. Assist leadership in quality‑improvement projects as needed. Job Requirements Active or pending Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, or ability to obtain one. 1+ year RN experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units. Diploma, ASN, or BSN nursing degree (BSN preferred; ability to obtain BSN within 4 years). Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
