Details about the Sous Chef position we are hiring for: The Sous Chef is responsible for the proper preparation of the planned menu in the absence of the Executive Chef and assists in the supervision of all kitchen employees maintaining a positive, courteous work environment for staff and residents. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, understand measurements and conversions. Two to three years’ experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred. Culinary education and supervisory background desirable. Ability to plan and organize work, interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards. Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet. Health Care experience desirable. Serve Safe Certification a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent interpersonal and social skills to work effectively with residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and other outside contacts.
