About the Position

Description: Join our fast-paced neuro specialty inpatient unit. This unit offers an opportunity to advance your nursing skills utilizing evidence-based practice. Become part of a collaborative team that encourages and supports one another. Work with a variety of medical and surgical neuro patients. The unit consists of 25 beds dedicated to neurosurgery general care. Post-surgical cases may include spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy, or ophthalmology cases. The neurological patient population may include multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and trauma patients. We also care for ortho patients with multiple injuries/diagnoses or spinal fractures requiring orthotics. Join our interdisciplinary team of stroke professionals. Provide the highest level of diagnosis and treatment options for individuals with epilepsy. Deliver patient and family-centered care while partnering with a dynamic multidisciplinary team. This includes nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, and medical teams. Our goal is to provide high-quality, evidence-based care. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum experience required is two years of acute care within the last three years in the specialty. Pass/Fail testing is required with strict passing criteria. A telemetry exam will be conducted prior to the start of employment. The adult exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and passing scores of 80% or higher. The pediatric exam also requires a passing score of 80% or higher. Travelers will have two attempts to pass. If the traveler fails the second attempt, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course will be required before a third attempt can be scheduled. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in cancellation of the assignment.
