Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm.

Location: New York, NY or Short Hills, NJ
Position Type: Associate (Lateral)
Experience Level: 3–6 years

Direct Counsel is partnering with a global law firm to identify a mid-level associate for its Corporate Practice, focusing on mergers & acquisitions. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-value transactions within a collaborative and internationally recognized platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent buyers and sellers in strategic corporate transactions across a variety of industries
• Support the execution of M&A, private equity, fund formation, and securities matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and ancillary agreements
• Conduct and manage due diligence and coordinate deal closings
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and manage transactional specialists
• Assist in maintaining and developing client relationships

Qualifications:

• 3–6 years of law firm experience, with a strong focus on M&A
• Experience in private equity fund formation and management is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage deal workflow and supervise junior team members
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Strong business judgment and client-service mindset
• JD from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York or New Jersey Bar

Compensation:

• Salary range: $260,000 – $390,000 (based on experience)
• Bonus eligible with a comprehensive benefits package
