Company Description: Flores Painting & Drywall is a family-owned painting and drywall contractor in San Jose, founded in 1993 (CSLB #676165 BBB A+ accredited). We do interior and exterior painting, drywall, and repair work for HOAs, property management companies, and homeowners across the South Bay. We're a small office, so you'll work directly with the owner and have a real hand in how the business runs. Role Description: We're hiring a full-time, on-site Office Manager / Bookkeeper to keep our books accurate and run the day-to-day office. You'll keep QuickBooks clean, run payroll, keep receivables moving, and be the first point of contact for clients and vendors. What you'll do: Keep the books in QuickBooks Desktop: record transactions, maintain the general ledger, and reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly Run payroll through Paychex and be our point of contact with them Invoice clients, including progress billing and change orders Follow up with HOA and property managers on outstanding invoices until they're paid Manage accounts payable and vendor payments Help prepare estimates and bids from job notes Keep business filings and renewals current, including state filings, contractor license, and insurance certificates Answer the office phone and email, and keep records organized Prepare monthly financial reports for the owner and support our CPA at tax time What you'll do: [2+] years of bookkeeping experience; QuickBooks Desktop required Payroll experience; Paychex a plus Clear, professional written communication with clients Comfortable following up on overdue invoices: polite, persistent, and organized Construction or trades experience a strong plus (progress billing, change orders, lien timelines) Detail-oriented and able to work independently in a small office Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Details Full-time, on-site.
