Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the MS Stroke Stepdown Unit. The unit specializes in caring for patients with conditions such as stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, COPD, CHF, isolation needs, pneumonia, and other pulmonary complications. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to adult patients in the MS Stroke Stepdown Unit.
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as necessary.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions regularly, documenting changes in EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other medical staff to optimize patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety regulations.
• Utilize IV pumps and manage N/G tubes and feeding tubes as needed.
• Float to other units as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical/surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience.
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are required (NIHSS can be obtained prior to start).
• Valid and active NY RN license and all active RN licenses must be verified through NURSYS report.
• Experience with EMR systems, particularly EPIC.
