INTERNAL AUDITOR / ACCOUNTANT-AUDITOR

About the Position The Internal Auditor/Accountant‑Auditor is an entry‑level role within the Department of Auditor‑Controller’s Internal Auditor career track. The position supports audits, investigations, and financial monitoring across three potential assignment areas: the Audit Division, Countywide Contract Monitoring Division, or Office of County Investigations. Essential Job Functions Assist in conducting management, performance, financial, compliance, and information technology (IT) component audits. Assist and/or conduct financial studies and investigations by gathering data from a variety of sources and documents. Assist in providing technical assistance to departments by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information supplied by client departments. Assist in conducting reviews of County contractors’ compliance with their contracts and regulatory requirements. Assist in reviewing and evaluating accounting systems, auditing components of IT systems in Counties departments and contractors. Prepare various documents. Interact with a variety of individuals. Testify in criminal and administrative proceedings. Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 21 semester units (or 32 quarter units) of accounting courses, including a course in auditing.
