HR Generalist - Contract

New York, NY | Hybrid | $30-$40/hour

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced HR Generalist on behalf of a mission-driven organization in New York City. This is a contract opportunity offering broad exposure across HR operations, employee engagement, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, HR analytics, and special projects.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years of progressive HR experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position is well suited for an HR professional who enjoys both the people-facing and operational sides of Human Resources and can effectively manage multiple priorities.

The organization operates on a hybrid schedule, with employees expected to work onsite a minimum of two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with HR leadership and department managers to support onboarding, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, and other HR initiatives
  
• Coordinate the new-hire onboarding process, including documentation, orientation, introductions, and HRIS entry
  
• Maintain accurate employee information and HR records while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity
  
• Serve as an HR resource to employees regarding policies, procedures, and general HR-related questions
  
• Support employee relations matters and performance management processes
  
• Coordinate and manage the organization's internship program and serve as an HR liaison to participating departments
  
• Support implementation of HR programs and policies focused on employee engagement, retention, and the overall employee experience
  
• Assist with HR analytics and reporting, including turnover, recruitment costs, performance measures, and other workforce metrics
  
• Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, staff events, and related activities
  
• Support employee surveys, analyze feedback, and assist with developing actionable recommendations
  
• Prepare reports and dashboards measuring the effectiveness of employee programs and initiatives
  
• Support training and development, process improvement, and other HR projects
  
• Maintain knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
  
• 4+ years of Human Resources experience , ideally within a broad HR Generalist capacity
  
• Experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement
  
• Strong HRIS experience; UKG Pro experience is highly preferred
  
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
  
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus

Compensation: $30-$40/hour, based on experience
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Hybrid, with a minimum of two days onsite per week in New York City
