Work Environment

The Physical Therapist position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Facility in Newark, NJ. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations which entail a review of patient history, performing specific assessments, and determining appropriate treatment recommendations, all while documenting results accurately.
• Communicate evaluation findings and proposed treatment plans clearly to patients and their families. Involve patients and their families in goal setting to enhance the rehabilitation process.
• Implement treatment protocols tailored to each patient's unique presentation and adjust them according to the evolving healthcare environment, ensuring safe and effective patient practices.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on changes in a patient's condition and engaging in multidisciplinary consultations as required.
• Oversee comprehensive discharge planning and follow-up care that meets organizational standards, including timely and accurate documentation of all patient interactions and treatment planning.
• Exhibit exemplary time management and meet productivity standards while maintaining an organized schedule to promote efficiency in patient care.
• Participate in hospital and community-based marketing initiatives to enhance awareness of available physical therapy services and promote patient access.
• Contribute actively to departmental goals, ensuring compliance with all governmental and accreditation regulations.
• Engage in continuous education pursuits to enhance professional competencies and share knowledge by serving as a clinical instructor for students.
• Promote excellent customer experiences, contributing to the removal of barriers to care, and actively engage in initiatives aimed at improving access to rehabilitation services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is required.

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a rehabilitation setting is preferred but not strictly required.
