Job Description
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for compiling and recording employee time and payroll data. This role computes employees' time worked, production and commissions. Employee will post wages, deductions and prepare paychecks.
Job Duties:
- Gather and input data from office, field, and plants. Process weekly payroll using a combination of manual time sheets and automated data in an accurate and timely manner.
- Complete the payroll process by balancing hours; resolve discrepancies and running paychecks.
- Audit and main employee and payroll data.
- Assist in generating federal and state withholding tax forms to e-file; issue W-2s at year end.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare month-end accruals.
- Other duties as assigned for GSI/MPI.
Education/Experience:
- AA Degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business Field or equivalent years of education plus experience.
- Minimum 1 year of payroll experience.
- Must have a some knowledge of payroll processes, legal requirements, and IRS regulations.
- Knowledge of construction job costing a plus.
