Assistant, Associate or Full Research Scientist (Bioengineering) Position summary: Research Scientists are non‑tenured, extramurally funded academic researchers who develop and lead independent research and creative programs in Bioengineering. They serve as Principal Investigators on extramural grants, generate high‑caliber publications, engage in university and public service, continuously demonstrate independent research activity of high quality and significance, and garner scholarly reputation. Responsibilities Develop and advance independent research programs in bioengineering sciences, methods, and instrumentation. Secure and manage extramural funding; serve as Principal Investigator on grants. Publish high‑caliber research products in leading journals. Engage in university and public service activities that advance the mission of the School of Engineering. Demonstrate continuous, innovative, and high‑quality research activity of significance. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required): PhD in Bioengineering or a related engineering discipline. Preferred qualifications: Candidates with at least one year of postdoctoral experience and outstanding writing and communication skills, as demonstrated by a successful publication record. Experience areas of interest: Genomic, molecular, nuclear, cellular, organismal, physiological analysis and design, functional biomechanics, and systems analysis.
