Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Position Description Synopsis: The CTA Curbside Improvement Program reports to the CTA Curbside Improvement Project Manager and is responsible for assisting the project manager with managing the scope, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction-related activities for the program. The program focuses on the Arrivals curbside area around the entire CTA, from entry doors of the terminals out to the outer island pickup zone. The scope of the project encompasses a comprehensive range of improvements from curbside out to the garage facades and landscape zones in between. It is intended to enhance the look and feel of LAX and reflect a modern, safe, and iconic vision of our airport, elevating the overall passenger and visitor experience while adhering to stringent safety, security, and sustainability standards. Position Description Summary: The CTA Curbside Improvement Program Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and RFI management as well as construction management support. The role supports the project management team (project manager, assistant PM, construction manager, design manager, etc.). Key Identifiers for the Position Technical/Construction background with experience in an operating/active environment. Knowledge in design and construction contracting practices and methodologies. Knowledge and experience in the project design life cycle from Concept to Project Definition, Book to Permit to Bulletins. Knowledge and experience in the project construction life cycle from Pre-Construction to estimating/buyout to phasing to implementation to Closeout. Maintaining an excellent working relationship with design and construction professionals geared toward open communications and mutual problem solving in the best interest of the project and all other parties involved. Contributing to a high level of team morale through professionalism that reflects well on the project team, external stakeholders and LAWA/internal stakeholders. Essential Job Duties Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittals. Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into PM Web, and prepare management information status reports as required. Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web, the project information system. Maintain project files and document/submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies). Work with the Contractor(s) to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner. Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to Contractor(s). Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings. Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as attending and documenting project meetings (write agendas and minutes), performing expediting functions, and preparing and maintaining an expediting log. Hardware/Software Knowledge Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam. Ability to work in PM Web preferred. Professional Experience Level / Other Qualifications 5 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects. Experience with projects more than $50 million in value. Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations. Education / Training Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other related field required. Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional license or certifications. Element-Specific Requirements / Notes May assume other duties as required/needed. Might be required to work past regular work shift or various shifts as needed. LAWA will provide a desktop computer that can be VPN’d into or a laptop computer. Consultant must have a company-provided laptop computer. This is required for company business and to VPN into LAWA system when away from the office as necessary. Cell phone provided by consultant is required. This is NOT a work-from-home position. This is a salaried position based on 40 hours per week at the applicable all-in labor rate. This is a Monday-Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAX. After hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position. This shall be considered part of the salary. #J-18808-Ljbffr
