Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with a variety of complex medical conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications including cardiac drips, insulin infusions, and heparin therapy.
• Perform peritoneal dialysis and assist with procedures such as thoracentesis and chest tube insertions.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment such as bipaps and high flow oxygen systems.
• Maintain thorough documentation using the Meditech system.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
• Facilitate effective communication with patients and their families, utilizing AIDET principles.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality metrics.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Strong critical thinking skills and EKG rhythm interpretation.
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips is essential.
• Preferred experience with peritoneal dialysis and peripheral IV skills.
• Knowledge of tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tube insertions is a plus.
