Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our well-equipped Surgical Center located in New York, New York. The work schedule typically spans Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts and weekends off, providing a balanced work-life environment. Our multi-disciplinary team collaborates closely to ensure a seamless patient experience and a support system that prioritizes both patient and staff well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive advanced practitioner care to our diverse orthopaedic patient population under the supervision of a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon.
• Conduct thorough patient examinations, interpret radiology and lab results, and formulate treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Take detailed medical histories, prescribe medications, order necessary therapies, and assist in surgical procedures as needed.
• Manage patient care across various phases, including inpatient services, consultation requests, pre- and post-procedural evaluations, and outpatient follow-ups to ensure continuity of care.
• Adapt to the fast-paced environment of our Surgical Center, providing timely interventions in response to urgent patient needs and collaborating with surgical teams to improve surgical outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant focused on orthopaedic surgery, you will primarily care for patients suffering from a variety of conditions ranging from acute injuries to chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Your role will encompass treating a wide demographic, including athletes, active adults, and the elderly, each requiring specialized attention to restore mobility and improve quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• A valid and active Physician Assistant License in the state of New York.
• National certification as a Physician Assistant by the relevant board.
• DEA certification must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Physician Assistant, specifically in orthopaedic specialty care, is required.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on clinical experience in orthopaedic procedures and familiarity with advanced wound care practices.
• Proven capability in managing urgent community referrals effectively and efficiently.
• Willingness and ability to assist in surgical operations under the direct guidance of attending physicians.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 160,000, complemented by a performance-based bonus structure.
