Salary: $65,000-$85,000 | Full-Time | On-Site

A well?established construction company in Farmingdale, NY is seeking an experienced Construction Bookkeeper to manage day?to?day accounting functions, including AIA billing, job cost tracking, and financial reporting. This is a full?time, in?office position.

Role Overview

The Construction Bookkeeper will support the financial operations of the company by handling project billing, vendor management, reconciliations, and job cost accounting. Experience with AIA billing is required, and prior work in the construction industry is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process AIA billing, including schedules of values, lien waivers, and related documentation
  
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  
• Track job costs, budgets, and project?related expenses
  
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements
  
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with month?end close
  
• Coordinate with project managers regarding billing, change orders, and cost updates
  
• Process subcontractor invoices and verify compliance documentation
  
• Prepare reports for management, including job cost summaries and financial snapshots
  
• Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
  
• Support general office accounting and administrative tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

• Construction bookkeeping experience required
  
• AIA billing experience required
  
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting and construction financial workflows
  
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
  
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with spreadsheets
  
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  
• Strong communication skills and professionalism

Compensation & Schedule

• $65,000-$85,000, depending on experience
