Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting function for a global nonprofit organization. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance & Operations, this individual will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the organization's financial records while overseeing month-end close, consolidated financial reporting, audit coordination, tax filings, and the general ledger across seven international entities. This is a hands-on leadership role within a lean accounting team where the Accounting Manager will provide oversight of the Accounts Payable function while serving as the primary accounting resource for leadership. Responsibilities include: Own and manage the month-end and year-end close process. Maintain oversight of the general ledger and all balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare consolidated financial statements across multiple international entities. Manage intercompany accounting and multi-currency consolidations. Partner with international finance teams to ensure timely financial reporting. Lead the annual external audit and serve as the primary contact for auditors. Oversee the preparation and filing of IRS Form 990 and related tax filings. Lead the annual Workers' Compensation audit and other compliance reporting. Supervise the Accounts Payable function while maintaining overall responsibility for financial accuracy. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards. Partner closely with the VP of Finance & Operations on strategic accounting initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a nonprofit organization (required). Experience managing month-end close and maintaining the general ledger. Experience preparing consolidated financial statements across international entities. Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting. Experience leading external audits and Form 990 filings. Experience with multi-currency accounting and international reconciliations preferred. Strong Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred. Advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
