Our client is looking for a Payroll Specialist to work 100% onsite in their office in San Jose, CA. This is an immediate need!
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Support Time and Absence Bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees
- Review, update, and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; process integrated time for employees on LOA's.
- Identify and resolve time entry inquiries in a timely and consistent manner, via phone call or email
- Identify and review the time entry problems or errors submitted by employees or managers
- Perform audits of work hours, time entries and absences to make sure employees time entries are entered correctly in the payroll system
- Perform functional tests and validate data on Timekeeping and Absence business case scenarios
- Log errors and improvements occurring in Timekeeping and Payroll system
- ssist and support Timekeeping and Payroll related training, communication, and changes
- ssist with documenting standard operating procedures for Timekeeping and Payroll
- Record garnishment deductions processed by Third party vendors
- ssist with post payroll activities related to timekeeping
- Download and save annual, quarter end, 940, and 941 tax returns on shared drive
- Run reports and request manual check payments
- Deposit pension checks for both union and non-union retired employees
- ssist with audit reviews
- Monitor payroll team inbox and mails
- Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ Years Payroll Processing Experience
- 2+ Years TimeKeeping System Experience. Peoplesoft and Workday preferred but not reuqired.
- Ability to perform mathematic functions to calculate figures, amounts, and fractions.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and the ability to write correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to managers, customers, and other employees is required.
- Intermediate computer skills with additional understanding of how to navigate through databases, business systems and must know the features of word processing programs (e.g., Microsoft Word) and electronic mail word processing.
- Must know how to use spreadsheet to perform basic analysis.
