Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in-home or at our outpatient center, adapting techniques as needed to fit each unique client situation.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on anger management, coping strategies, social skills enhancement, and reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior and aggression.

• Work collaboratively with caregivers to improve their skills in decision-making and effective management of behavioral challenges at home.

• Partner with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, sharing insights and strategies to support youth and families holistically.
\n
• Ensure timely submission of all required documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Actively participate in monthly staff meetings, contributing recommendations and sharing progress while collaborating with peers on ongoing case discussions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will work with a diverse clientele, primarily children and teenagers aged 3-20, who present with various developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Tailoring therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs of each child, the therapist will be a vital player in creating strategies that enhance positive development for both the child and their family.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is necessary to provide services.

• Familiarity with issues related to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities is an asset.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle to facilitate travel, when needed.

• Successful completion of a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
