Senior Accountant

POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in this growing services firm.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Lead the month-end close process to include review of accruals and journal entries prepared by others

• Complete accurate balance sheet reconciliations for review by the Executive team

• Ensure adherence with GAAP in all financial reporting

• Mentor Staff and assist in training as needed

• Bank reconciliations and insight as needed

• Assist in yearly external audit as well as tax filings

• Completes variance analysis where necessary to provide insight into company, region, or customer-level financial data ​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​

• All other duties as defined by your supervisor

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field

• CPA or MBA a plus

• 2-5 years of experience in either public or GL/cost accounting

SKILLS REQUIRED:

The Senior Account must have and be able to consistently apply the following skills at the levels indicated to produce assigned results.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting Software

• Highly proficient in Excel

• ERP experience required, Great Plains/Acumatica a plus

• Excellent communication skills

• Customer Service Skills

• Initiative Skills

• Problem Solving Skills
