As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Balanced Being Psychotherapy Center, you will play a critical role in enhancing the emotional and psychological well-being of our clients. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary interviews, thoroughly documenting each client's case from their initial consultation to treatment completion.
\n
• Assess clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs, utilizing structured evaluation tools and methodologies.
\n
• Develop and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans tailored for a variety of populations including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and impactful individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring therapeutic goals align with each client’s treatment plan.
\n
• Continuously monitor clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize recovery outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals—including psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, and social workers—to integrate care effectively and ensure holistic treatment approaches.
\n
• Conduct follow-ups with psychiatrists for clients admitted to the hospital and maintain communication regarding ongoing treatments.
\n
• Identify and address potential barriers to recovery, providing strategies and resources to mitigate such challenges.
\n
• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health concerns, fostering a supportive network around the client.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse array of clients facing various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction disorders, and relationship challenges. Your work will encompass individuals from different backgrounds and age groups, enhancing your skills in culturally competent care. This role is pivotal in providing accessible mental health services within the community, emphasizing a compassionate approach to each individual’s unique story and needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling, with a strong foundation in evidence-based techniques.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR.

• Experience handling complex physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with guidelines and best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• In-depth understanding of psychotropic medications and their potential effects on clients' mental health.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and expertise, which includes a signing bonus for new hires.
