Behavioral Health Therapist, Day Shift, Inpatient Behavioral Health

Position Behavioral Health Therapist – Shady Grove Medical Center – Behavioral Health Responsibilities Initiates and implements complete, comprehensive psychosocial assessments. Provides individual, group, and family therapy to clients and their families. Participates in an interdisciplinary treatment team to develop strategies and interventions that promote excellent therapeutic outcomes. Assesses and intervenes in cases of suspected or disclosed child/adult neglect/abuse; documents services and disseminates information/reports to community referral sources and agencies (e.g., DJJ, DSS, HHS, APS, CPS, LCC). Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team, referral sources, and community resources for aftercare and supportive services to ensure successful discharge planning and promotes positive patient-family-community relations. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to diffuse psychotic and/or behavioral crises to ensure client, unit, and staff safety and stability. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or an equivalent Master’s Degree in a recognized health field. One year of experience preferred. LGSW, LMSW, or LGPC license in the state of Maryland (or equivalent licensure). Work Schedule Employment Type: Full-time Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week Typical Daily Schedule: Monday‑Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Shift Type: Day Shift Weekend Requirements: Weekend rotation required Holiday Requirements: Required to work 2 major and 2 minor holidays per year Shift Differential Eligible: Yes Compensation $10,000 sign‑on bonus over 3 installments (paid at 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years of hire date).
