Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS*, PALS* Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred; travel experience required Description: The position is for an experienced Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. Candidates should have experience in a Medical-Surgical ICU setting. Experience with charting in Epic is required. The ideal candidate will have a patient ratio experience of 2-3 patients. Travel experience is preferred. Must possess ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications. Skills required include administration of chemotherapy, management of arterial lines, and care of ventilated patients. Candidates should be knowledgeable in central line care and management, as well as in the administration of blood products. Experience in handling chronic and acute renal failure and continuous IV sedation is necessary. Ability to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure is crucial. Proficiency in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is essential. Candidates should be comfortable with various invasive monitoring techniques and procedures. Experience with ECMO, IABP, and CVVHD/CRRT is preferred. The unit provides support from interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and pharmacy. Daily census is approximately 14 patients, with a number of beds available for patient care. Candidates will be expected to float based on scheduling needs. Weekend coverage is required, with a specific number of weekend shifts per contract. Preferred patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. This role may include pre/post cardiac surgery management and procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
