Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-8 students as a licensed Occupational Therapist in the Algonquin, IL area. This full-time position spans two welcoming schools, with each day dedicated to one engaging campus. You’ll play an essential part in the development of both elementary and middle school students, collaborating closely with educators and special education teams to foster student success and growth.
As an Occupational Therapist in this school-based setting, your days will be balanced between general education classrooms, resource support, and some self-contained special education environments. This structure ensures you’re empowered to utilize your expertise with minimal in-school travel, focusing your time and energy where it matters most—on the students.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license
- Prior experience in pediatric settings or in schools highly valued
- Familiarity with sensory integration techniques and progress tracking for school-aged children
- Confidence in adapting interventions for varied student needs and documenting progress toward individualized goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students in both elementary and middle school grades
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with teaching staff, counselors, and families to provide holistic student support
- Serve both general education and special education populations
- Maintain thorough documentation and communication regarding student progress
