ABOUT YOU

• You have hands-on proposal management experience in construction, architecture, or engineering, you understand technical scopes, not just marketing copy.
• You're highly organized, can juggle multiple deadlines at once, and stay calm when priorities shift (because at ETRO, they will).
• You bring high energy and can keep pace with a company that's moving quickly.
• You're a collaborative, ego-free leader - our team wins and loses together, and we need a manager who leads that way too.
• You're comfortable rolling up your sleeves when needed, even though this is primarily a leadership role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Proposal Manager, you’ll take ownership of ETRO’s full proposal and pursuit process as we expand into new markets and continue to grow. You’ll lead and mentor a team of Proposal Coordinators, report to our Director of Brand + Culture, and ensure every submission reflects ETRO’s brand, quality, and ambition. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and technical teams across ETRO to turn complex information into compelling, standout proposals for our clients, including institutional, government, First Nations, and healthcare.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Proposal Leadership: Assign proposals to coordinators based on complexity, manage workloads and calendars, and run kick-off meetings.
• Deadline & Quality Ownership: Track every deadline across active pursuits and review completed proposals for accuracy, polish, and brand alignment.
• Team Development: Mentor and coach the team of Proposal Coordinators, helping them grow their technical proposal skills.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Build strong working relationships with Construction, Estimating, and Pre-Construction to gather the technical content that makes our proposals win.
• Process & Tools: Support the implementation of a new proposal management software and continuously improve how the team works.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Proven experience managing proposals/pursuits in AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) technical background strongly preferred over traditional marketing.
• Experience leading a team with direct reports.
• Non-negotiable: proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and Airtable is a plus; experience with proposal management software (e.g., OpenAsset) is an asset.
• A track record of managing multiple concurrent deadlines without letting quality slip.
