Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth preliminary mental health evaluations to assess clients’ psychological and emotional well-being.

• Document comprehensive case histories, tracking client progress from initial consultation through the entire course of treatment.
\n
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery strategies for a wide range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions to promote healing and personal development.
\n
• Regularly monitor clients' compliance with treatment plans, adjusting strategies based on their progress and insights gained during sessions.

• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care providers, to ensure integrated care.

• Provide follow-up care for clients with hospital admissions, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of treatment.

• Help clients and their families identify and mitigate behaviors that hinder the recovery process.

• Educate family members and primary caregivers on managing mental health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• Successful completion of the National Counseling Exam (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong experience and familiarity with electronic health record platforms, particularly AVATAR.

• Deep understanding of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and crisis intervention techniques.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively document cases and interact with colleagues and clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Significant experience in a mental health counseling role with a track record of delivering compassionate care.

• Experience addressing co-occurring disorders, and providing education about prescribed medications and their effects.

• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, plus a sign-on bonus, recognizing the essential work performed by mental health counselors.
