Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 1 year License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Comfortable with CPAP/BiPAP - Med titrations - Charge-capable on nights Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for a 31-bed mixed acuity unit. This unit primarily supports medicine services and cares for a variety of step-down and med/surg patients. Candidates with only 1 year of experience may now be considered. Profiles will need to be reviewed by the manager. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Float within the organization is required as needed. The unit has an interdisciplinary support team that includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation. Patient diagnoses in this unit include bacteremia, COPD, anemia, and abdominal pain among others. The daily census is around 25 patients. The unit mainly houses medicine teaching services and does not have a specific specialty service. Experience with essential procedures and equipment such as NG/Dobhoff, Kangaroo pump, wound vac, and chest tube care is expected. CPAP/BiPAP management, titration of cardiac drips, and the ability to manage dysrhythmias are critical for this position. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
