Contract SpecialistThe Contract Specialist acts as a strategic contract reviewer and business risk advisor for Shaw Industries' Commercial Division, driving sound decision-making across customer agreements. This role evaluates commercial contracts, identifies risk, and assesses operational and financial impacts to proactively resolve issues prior to Legal engagement. This role is based in Cartersville, GA and works in a hybrid way with 3 days / week required in office.ResponsibilitiesIndependently review all incoming contracts before legal review, including NDAs, MSAs, RFP terms, rebate agreements, pricing agreements, and other commercial customer contracts.Identify and assess business risks, including financial exposure, operational impacts, and pricing implications, and non-standard contractual requirements.Flag contract provisions likely to require Legal review and prepare concise summaries of key issues, risks, and recommended business positions.Proactively resolve business-related issues with Sales, Strategic Accounts, customers, and internal stakeholders before Legal escalation.Evaluate contract structures and commercial terms to ensure alignment with Shaw's business objectives, operational capabilities, and risk tolerance.Support commercial discussions and negotiations related to contract terms, pricing structures, rebate programs, and customer requirements.Recommend alternative contract language for business concerns, commercial positions, and risk mitigation strategies.Partner with Legal by providing business context, contract history, customer background, and recommended negotiation positions.Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales and Strategic Accounts teams throughout the contract development and negotiation process.Monitor executed agreements to ensure ongoing compliance with customer contractual obligations and Shaw business requirements.Maintain contract records, amendments, renewals, pricing schedules, rebate structures, and supporting documentation within Salesforce and approved contract management systems.Coordinate and facilitate contract-related pricing requests, approvals, updates, and renewals in partnership with Sales Leadership, Finance, Commercial Leadership, and Contract Administration.Generate, analyze, and distribute contract compliance reports, pricing updates, customer-specific contract summaries, rebate reports, funding fee reports, and other operational reporting as required while tracking key contractual milestones, including customer commitments, notice periods, and renewal timelines.Support implementation of customer contract terms by coordinating with internal departments to ensure contractual obligations are understood and executed properly.Develop and implement processes that improve contract quality, compliance, accuracy, and cycle time.Maintain accurate contract documentation, repositories, and reporting processes.Train and mentor internal stakeholders on contract requirements, risk identification, compliance obligations, reporting procedures, and best practices.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to contract management systems, reporting tools, pricing workflows, and business processes.Build strong relationships with Sales, Strategic Accounts, Legal, and external stakeholdersServe as a subject matter expert for assigned market segmentsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field and 2-3 years of commercial contract, pricing, sales operations, procurement, or related experience; OR 5-7 years of progressive experience in contract administration, RFPs, contract management, commercial operations, pricing, or customer agreement management in lieu of a degree.Proven ability to review and interpret contract agreements, identify business risk, and recommend solutionsExperience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Legal to support contract development, negotiations, and executionWorking knowledge of pricing structures, rebate programs, and customer agreements, including financial and margin implicationsStrong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex contract language into clear business insights and actionable recommendationsAbility and willingness to work in a hybrid way in Cartersville, GA 3 days a week depending on the needs of the business, travel schedule and collaboration focus.Highly Preferred Experiences and Skills:Experience supporting cooperative purchasing programs (Sourcewell, OMNIA Partners, GSA, or similar contract vehicles), including contract administration, compliance, renewals, and customer support for government, education, or healthcare customers.Salesforce (or similar CRM systems)Proficiency in Microsoft 365Competencies:Plan and OrganizeDemonstrate Good JudgementDrive ResultsBuild Trusting RelationshipsShaw Benefits Include:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance and disability coverageTuition reimbursementEmployee assistance programHealth savings accountPaid Time OffParental Leave401K and Retirement PlansProduct discounts for employeesAdoption assistanceShaw Family Health Center (Dalton, GA, and Cartersville, GA, locations)Shaw Commercial is a global design leader in commercial flooring for some of the world's most creative and innovative environments.
