Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in MedSurg/Telemetry License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong background in MedSurg/Telemetry Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively Solid written and oral communication skills Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels Experience reading telemetry strips Skills in managing chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV starts, drains, and PCA pumps Description: The RN will work in a unit with 24 beds providing care to patients. Common patient diagnoses include general medicine cases such as diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory conditions, renal diseases, and wound care. Patient ratios will be approximately 5-6 patients per RN and 8 patients per CNA. The role requires interaction with a variety of support staff including CNAs and charge nurses. The department offers 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist teams, as well as telemetry monitoring. Experience with technology including EMR systems and IV pumps is beneficial. The unit culture emphasizes patient-centered care, reliability, and strong teamwork. The RN will be part of a vital resource team, requiring the ability to manage various medications.
