Bankruptcy Accounts Examiner (Austin) Position located at 101 E 15th St, Austin, Texas in the RID Tax Collections Unit Department. This role is a senior‑level position that requires a strong understanding of state and federal payroll tax regulations and bankruptcy law. Responsibilities Examine and audit operating reports and financial accounting records; investigate and reconcile financial records. File federal bankruptcy claims on parties owing taxes, fees, or penalties to TWC. Direct agency actions to ensure compliance with the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and protect agency interests. Research the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and provide guidance on tax law regulations and related statutes. Prepare and review Proofs of Claim for submission to U.S. Bankruptcy Court to ensure accuracy and compliance with all federal and state laws governing the protection of sensitive personal information. Examine Unemployment Insurance tax records of employers to secure collection of past‑due taxes in accordance with the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act and Texas Labor Code. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Accounts Examiner II: Two years of full‑time experience in maintaining accounting records or performing auditing work. Accounts Examiner III: Three years of full‑time experience in maintaining accounting records or performing auditing work. Accounts Examiner IV: Four years of full‑time experience in maintaining accounting records or performing auditing work. All levels: Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
