Senior Director, AI Software Engineering

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
• We require 5+ years of experience leading technologists to anticipate and solve complex technical challenges within your area of expertise.
• We require experience driving multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models, including governance, quality controls, measurement frameworks, and secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs.
• We require a strong understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency and security expectations at scale, with the ability to advise senior leaders on safe adoption and portfolio governance.
• We require a proven record of launching Version 1 products from concept through first release and iterative improvement.
• We require genuine enthusiasm for and hands-on experience with AI-first development practices, using LLMs and agentic tools to speed up software delivery.
• We require experience building or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists.
• We require a track record of influencing across highly matrixed and complex organizations while delivering value at scale.
• We require experience leading complex initiatives that support system design, testing, and operational stability.
• We require experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• We require extensive practical cloud-native experience with AWS.

• We will build and lead the engineering organization for Dependency Explorer end to end, including hiring, team structure, culture, and performance.
• We will grow and guide a team of engineers and engineering managers, with the role expected to evolve into a managers-of-managers structure as the platform scales.
• We will partner closely with product managers and designers across the US and UK to deliver a cohesive, high-quality product.
• We will lead delivery of the core platform, including data ingestion pipelines, dependency graph modeling, developer-facing experiences, and firm-wide integration.
• We will make and own key architectural decisions on a modern AWS and Java stack while building at firm-wide scale.
• We will set strategy and operating standards for AI-enabled engineering across the portfolio to improve delivery speed, reliability, and code quality.
• We will define guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, and reuse across teams and functions.
• We will apply knowledge of SDLC tooling, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize the value of automation at scale.
• We will embed agentic-first development practices into how the team designs, codes, reviews, and ships, while coaching engineers who are learning this model.
• We will serve as a senior engineering voice across the organization and build credibility beyond our direct team.
• We will represent engineering in cross-functional discussions with security, risk, compliance, and platform partners.
• We will engage senior stakeholders clearly, translating technical work into business impact.
