Sr. Lead Software Engineer - AWS/AI Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, at least 5 years of applied experience, and at least 2 years leading engineers to plan and deliver complex technical work in a specialist domain
• Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and production operations for distributed services
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Go, Python, Java, or TypeScript
• Experience migrating complex applications to the public cloud, particularly in IaC developer, SRE, or acceleration roles
• Experience delivering in an Agile environment using practices such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, and Scrum
• Strong knowledge of software design principles and patterns, with experience implementing modular monolith and microservices architectures
• Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing, or troubleshooting, including setting standards to validate output correctness, performance, and security
• Knowledge of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant practices and controls
• Preferred: Experience designing and maintaining API-based and event-driven architectures
• Preferred: Advanced experience building and operating cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services
• Preferred: Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code patterns, including modules, policies, and environment promotion
• Preferred: Experience with modern front-end development using React
• Preferred: Experience defining observability standards for metrics, logs, and traces, and operational readiness practices for production services

• Design and implement cloud-native solutions using modern technology stacks to deliver highly available, performant, and resilient products
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug colleagues code to improve reliability and maintainability
• Shape decisions affecting product design, application functionality, and operational processes throughout the engineering lifecycle
• Serve as a subject matter expert in areas such as public cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure as code
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge-sharing to strengthen team capabilities and delivery consistency
• Influence colleagues and project stakeholders to adopt effective engineering practices and technologies that improve measurable outcomes
• Promote and govern approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams, setting measurable validation standards and encouraging reuse to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operations
• Use software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale
