The opportunity

Turk Hospitality Ventures is conducting a confidential search for a Director of Sales to lead the pre-opening sales effort and build sustained business for an upscale hotel within a hotel and condominium development in Miami.

The successful candidate will establish the hotel sales strategy, build the team and account base, and turn market interest into profitable bookings before and after opening. This role requires a proactive hospitality sales leader with strong relationships, disciplined follow-through, and experience introducing a new hotel to the market. The position focuses on hotel business and commercial partnerships.

Opening sales strategy

• Develop the hotel pre-opening sales plan, account priorities, segment targets, sales budget, and activity calendar with property leadership, revenue management, and marketing partners.
• Build a qualified pipeline before opening. Develop corporate, leisure, group, and meetings business aligned with the hotel positioning, operating capabilities, and commercial goals.
• Recruit and develop the sales team. Establish account ownership, customer relationship management processes, proposal standards, reporting, and clear performance expectations.

Business development and revenue growth

• Build relationships with corporate accounts, travel advisers, meeting and event planners, travel management companies, and other relevant distribution and referral partners in domestic and international markets.
• Lead prospecting, sales calls, presentations, site visits, and contract negotiations. Coordinate rates, concessions, credit terms, and contractual commitments with the appropriate hotel leaders.
• Partner with revenue management to evaluate business mix, account production, group opportunities, and demand periods. Pursue business that supports both revenue targets and profitability.

Market launch and commercial coordination

• Coordinate with marketing and brand partners on sales materials, presentations, trade activity, and launch campaigns. Ensure that client communications accurately reflect the hotel offering and opening readiness.
• Work with operations, food and beverage, and event teams to develop appropriate packages and deliver a smooth handover from booking to guest arrival and event execution.
• Align client commitments with shared-space agreements, residential considerations, and confirmed operational capabilities. Report pipeline, pace, conversion, account production, and market feedback to property leadership and ownership as appropriate.

Director of Sales

Candidate profile

• Progressive sales leadership in upscale or luxury full-service hotels, with experience as a Director of Sales or a comparable senior hotel sales leader.
• Direct experience launching a hotel or leading a major hotel repositioning, with responsibility for building the sales plan, account base, and booking pipeline.
• A demonstrated record of developing profitable business across relevant segments, including corporate, leisure, group, or meetings and events.
• Strong prospecting, relationship management, presentation, negotiation, and account development skills, supported by disciplined use of a sales CRM.
• Commercial judgment and the ability to work effectively with revenue management, marketing, finance, and operations on pricing, contracts, forecasting, and delivery.
• Experience leading and coaching a sales team, with clear goals and consistent accountability.
• Ability to work full-time on property in Miami and travel for relevant sales activities.

Preferred experience

Miami or South Florida market experience and established relationships with relevant buyers are strongly preferred. Experience in a hotel connected to residences or a mixed-use development is valuable, as is familiarity with international luxury travel distribution and global hotel brand sales networks.
