Position Overview

St. Elara Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide exceptional rehabilitative care in our Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) across East Brunswick, New Jersey. Work Environment

The PTA will work onsite in a variety of Assisted Living Facilities, collaborating with a dynamic team that includes physical therapists, orthopedic specialists, occupational therapists, and chiropractors. Our facilities are designed to provide a home-like and comforting environment for older adults, enabling patient-centered care without the confines of traditional clinic settings. You'll enjoy a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans prescribed by licensed physical therapists, focusing on orthopedic recovery and enhancing patients' mobility.
• Deliver compassionate care aimed at fostering both physical rehabilitation and emotional support to patients.
• Document patient progress meticulously through a user-friendly mobile Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring accurate and timely reporting on treatment effectiveness.
• Engage in ongoing communication with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care efficiently.
• Establish trusted relationships with residents, caregivers, and facility staff, promoting a supportive network that fosters patient recovery.
• Conduct evaluations of patient progress and communicate effectively with the supervising physical therapist for necessary adjustments to treatment plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on senior residents residing in assisted living facilities, many of whom may be dealing with complex orthopedic conditions. The PTA will provide personalized treatment that addresses each individual's unique needs, promoting their independence and dignity as they navigate rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• An active New Jersey PTA license.
• Ability to demonstrate strong clinical judgement and provide analytics on patient progress towards rehabilitation goals.
• Excellent communication skills, with a keen ability to empathize and connect with the elder population.
• Strong time management skills, allowing for efficient treatments across a varied daily caseload.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the specific needs of each patient and the working environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in outpatient settings, geriatrics, homecare, or assisted living facilities.
• A proven track record of enhancing patient mobility and facilitating recovery in a senior care context.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while being an integral part of a clinical team.

Compensation and Benefits
