Accountant

JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to manage daily financial records, reconcile bank accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with month‑end closing, ensuring compliance with GAAP. They analyze account variances, maintain the general ledger, and support audit preparation. Essential Functions Conduct general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct errors. Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts. Support monthly, quarterly, half‑year, and year‑end financial closes, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of accounts. Assist in providing schedules and commentary for account results and variances. Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures. Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Monitor policies and procedures for assigned departments, identify and suggest improvements for accounting reports and procedures. Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, reconcile cash disbursements accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts. Process customer invoices and manage customer collections. Verify and ensure accounts payable payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Provide outside auditors with assistance, gathering necessary account information and documents to perform audits and reviews. File tax forms with federal, state and local government agencies. Mentor and coach the AP/AR analyst. Progressive accounting experience, including month‑end and year‑end close processes. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills. Skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal; a commitment to high professional ethical standards. Proficient in ERP and accounting systems. Strong Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables). Preferred Education and Experience Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
