Job Summary

We are hiring a Metal Worker to support assembly, finishing, inspection, and testing of moderately complex mechanical products in a manufacturing environment.

This role requires strong hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with precision tools, blueprints, and quality standards.

Must have excellent hand/eye coordination and dexterity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and testing functions using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
• Operate buffing, polishing, and finishing equipment
• Buff, haze, polish, remove discoloration, and perform chemical cleaning as needed
• Count, size, and prepare tubes/components for cleaning and production
• Apply epoxy tape, install inserts, rivets, and brackets
• Inspect finished assemblies and ensure compliance with specifications
• Review job orders, materials, and quantities before production begins
• Complete packaging, sleeving, boxing, and documentation after inspections
• Identify and rework non-conforming products as instructed
• Maintain accurate paperwork and quality documentation

• Inspect, measure, and verify assemblies using:

  • Protractors
  • Height gauges
  • Inspection equipment
• Ensure equipment is calibrated according to schedules
• Maintain FOD-free and organized work areas

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of manufacturing or industry-related experience
• Experience working with mechanical products/components
• Strong mechanical reasoning skills
• Ability to read blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work in team environments

Preferred Skills

• Lean / Continuous Improvement experience
• Experience training or mentoring junior team members
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems/software such as:
• • PMR
  • TORS
  • Email systems
  • Employee self-service portals

Physical Requirements

Candidate must be able to:

• Stand, walk, and move throughout manufacturing facility
• Operate machinery and hand tools
• Inspect small parts for defects and accuracy
• Lift/move parts or equipment up to 50 lbs
• Maintain regular attendance and safety compliance
