About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Location

Morgantown, WV

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Onsite | 2 weekends per schedule required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined Stepdown and Medical-Surgical floor unit with 32 total beds (12 Stepdown, 20 Floor)
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 on Stepdown and 1:4–6 on the Floor
• Manage and titrate drips on the Stepdown side; administer PCAs, heparin, and similar therapies on the Floor side
• Read and interpret telemetry strips in conjunction with telemetry monitor technicians who continuously monitor patients
• Care for a typical Medical-Surgical population including patients with chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, and hospice (GIP Hospice) patients
• Float to other floor or stepdown units as needed and adhere to the facility holiday scheduling rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac rhythm strips
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemption requests considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Familiarity with drip titration and management in an intermediate care environment
• Experience caring for hospice or GIP Hospice patients in an acute care setting
