Schedule

There are opportunities for 12-hour night shifts, working 3 days per week. Travelers are required to work every other weekend. If time off includes weekends, those days will need to be made up at the end of the contract.

Assignment Details

Contracts can range from 13 to 26 weeks, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience, including 1 year of direct Medical Surgical experience.
• Previous successful traveler experience required; at least 2 contracts completed.
• Certifications: BCLS, NIHSS, and NIH are required; ACLS is preferred but not required.
• Skills: IV start, telemetry, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are essential. Experience in Med/Surg neuro is required.
• Must be able to float to other Medical Surgical/Telemetry areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care primarily for stroke and neurosurgery patients with various neuro diagnoses, including epilepsy and hematomas.
• Monitor and manage patient health, including telemetry and dysrhythmia management.
• Participate in continuous education and training opportunities available within the unit.
• Effectively communicate with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care needs and concerns.

Compliance / Notes

Orientation for this position is 36 hours. All travelers must pass EKG testing prior to starting. RTO after booking is not allowed to be accommodated onsite.
