Job Description

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the pre-sales process. Solutions Engineers serve as a strategic and consultative partner to Sales Teams throughout the sales cycle, with the objective of driving revenue growth and deepening our brand and reputation with our Higher Education and Secondary Education customers. Solutions Engineers serve as customer facing technical product experts, as well as the voice of the customer internally to product teams and company senior leadership. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, your day-to-day role will be a combination contributing to sales opportunities (leading or assisting with customer meetings such as product overviews, demos, workflow discussions, business cases, etc.), as well as internal initiatives (assisting with product or feature launches, collaborating with sales teams on customer inquires, advising on aspects of RFPs, and collaborating with Product, Product Marketing, and Sales Enablement Teams).

Key Responsibilities and Outputs:

• Product & Technical Expertise: Serve as customer facing technical subject matter expert for Turnitin's Integrity and Assessment products across all sales cycles.
• Presentations & Demos: Craft and deliver high-impact, tailored product overviews, and technical demonstrations to current and prospective higher education and secondary education customers.
• Technical Questions & RFP Support: Partner with sales teams to resolve technical product inquiries received from customers. Assist in the RFP/RFI process by advising on technical, integration, and other product related questions.
• Business Value Engineering: Build compelling business cases and value-focused presentations that align product capabilities with client pain points to influence customer buying decisions and support revenue growth.
• Evaluation & Proof of Concepts: Manage client trials, pilots, and Proofs of Concept (POCs), ensuring clear evaluation criteria and successful outcomes.
• Strategic Selling Support: Partner closely with sales teams to develop deal strategies, refine customer messaging to align to customer pain points, and develop business cases to influence deal closure.
• Workflow & Integration Support: Conduct technical discovery with customer stakeholders (CIOs, Administrators, Deans) to collect requirements, technical constraints, and document future state workflows.
• Voice of the Customer: Synthesize market feedback, competitive insights, and feature requests gleaned from customer interactions and provide to internal stakeholders, including Product and Marketing teams.
• Collaboration, Teamwork, and Growth: Contribute to a collaborative, low ego, and growth focused team. Embrace feedback, improvement, and innovation as part of business as usual. Actively participate in mentorship, promote best practice sharing across global Go-To-Market teams, and contribute to scaling the Solutions Engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Pre-Sales, or Technical Consulting in EdTech or Enterprise SaaS.
• Strong consultative selling and presentation skills with proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to executive, academic, and technical audiences.
• High level of intellectual curiosity and a desire to work through complex problems.
• Flexible and humble approach, focused on doing what is best for Turnitin Customers, our people, and our business.
• Proven track record of managing technical evaluations, Proofs of Concept, and RFP responses in complex sales cycles.
• Demonstrated expertise with customer workflows, including ability to understand complex integrations, gather requirements, and accelerate change management with customers.  Experience with LMS, LTI standards, and REST APIs is a plus.
• Must be able to regularly flex schedule across global time zones to further One Team collaboration and execute within a global function.

Additional Information

The expected annual base salary range for this position is: $87,615/year to $146,025/year . This position is bonus eligible.

Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if extended, and is determined by work location and a range of other relevant factors, including but not limited to: experience, skills, degrees, licensures, certifications, and other job-related factors. Internal equity, market and organizational factors are also considered.
