INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE

Developer: Information Technology Associate Salary: $4,935.00 - $8,740.00 per month (state‑specific ranges apply) Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Chief Information Officer, the developer will serve as a project‑team developer and application development resource for the Commission’s oversight function. Responsibilities include: Designing, developing, testing, and implementing N‑tier systems in a WAN/LAN environment Performing complex data processing and technical application support Leading acceptance testing and ensuring successful deployment of applications Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Working Conditions This is a hybrid telework position based on the Commission’s Telework policy; headquarters is in Sacramento. Candidates must reside in California. Some weekend or after‑hours work may be required; a cell phone must be carried and available for after‑hours response. Fingerprinting is required for a criminal background check. Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications listed in the Classification Specification. Desirable Qualifications Experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, SQL scripting) Business intelligence reporting (SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, etc.) Documentation of technical design and system specifications Support for mission‑critical applications and impact analysis Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and best practices Strong communication skills with non‑technical users Experience with web applications and public‑facing websites Independence, sound judgment, and flexibility in managing priorities Familiarity with Salesforce, MuleSoft, Visual Studio, or similar tools is desirable Special Personal Characteristics Good verbal and written communication skills; judgment, creativity, flexibility, time management, and attention to detail. Interpersonal Skills Professional, tactful interaction with colleagues, managers, state and federal agencies, and the public; ability to work independently and in a team.
