For more than 50 years, we've been dedicated to serving our community with dignity, respect, and a commitment to whole-person health.As a Behavioral Health Counselor, you'll make a direct impact by supporting patients and families through life's challenges, collaborating with providers across the organization, and helping improve access to behavioral health care in Newburgh.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive Salary: $65,000 – $82,000 (LMHC $65K | LMSW $70K–$75K | LCSW $80K–$82K)Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000Productivity Bonus: Potential to earn over $10,000 annually by meeting and exceeding productivity standardsPaid Time Off: 196 hours per calendar yearSick Time: 56 hours per calendar yearObserved Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas DayCME: 7 hours annually, plus stipendComprehensive Benefits Package: Health insurance, retirement plan, flexible spending, dependent care, paid holidays, and moreWhat You'll DoProvide diagnostic evaluations and psycho-social assessments for patients with mental health or substance use challengesDeliver individual and group psychotherapy for a diverse caseload, including patients with HIV/AIDS, chemical dependency, and other concernsCollaborate with patients, families, and specialized treatment programs to build treatment plans and monitor progressWork closely with other department directors to ensure integrated careMaintain timely and accurate documentation in patient chartsProvide in-service training to medical staff on mental health and substance use topicsRotate in a virtual on-call schedule with other counselorsCover one late shift weekly (Monday–Wednesday: 10–6, 11–7, or 12–8)Participate in staff and committee meetings, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiativesServe as a mandated reporter in suspected child abuse casesPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsMaster's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or NursingActive NYS license: LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC (required)Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience preferredExperience with children and adolescents strongly preferredCompassion, teamwork, and a commitment to serving underserved communities
