About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med-Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years with 1 year of direct Med-Surg experience. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS; ACLS preferred but not required. Must-Have: Must have Med-Surg experience; travelers will not be accepted without previous Med-Surg experience. Description: Cross posting after booking is not allowed. Call offs or additional time off on the unit may result in cancellation and do not return status. Unit primarily cares for stroke patients, as well as other neuro diagnoses. Patients may include those with epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and more. Unit trains nurses for epilepsy monitoring but training typically does not affect travelers. Daily census averages around 50 patients. Patient ratios are 1:6. Travelers are required to work every other weekend. Frequent floating may be required to Med-Surg areas. If a traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, they must make up the weekend shifts based on unit needs. Must pass EKG testing prior to start in this specialty. Medical and religious exemptions for flu vaccine are allowed. All RTO must be pre-approved; travelers cannot request additional time off after signing. Candidates must be open to floating within and near the facility as described in the job details. References can be pending at the time of submission. Pre-start modules are non-billable and must be completed prior to starting. Candidates must complete annual modules that vary by specialty.
