About the Opportunity
A well-established professional CPA firm in downtown Knoxville is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a relaxed and supportive office environment with strong employee tenure and a collaborative culture.
Location: Downtown Knoxville, TN (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $50,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time
Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for an excellent benefits package including PTO, paid holidays, health insurance contribution, retirement plan contribution, professional development opportunities, and employer-paid parking.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
- Post cash receipts and cash disbursements to the general ledger
- Process payroll and payroll tax filings
- Prepare and submit payroll tax deposits
- Prepare sales tax returns
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Maintain books for multiple companies
- Reconcile intercompany accounts
- Assist with additional bookkeeping and accounting functions as needed
Qualifications
- Experience with bookkeeping and general ledger accounting
- QuickBooks experience
- Payroll processing experience
- Experience with payroll tax returns and sales tax filings
- Public accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple entities/accounts simultaneously
- Professional communication and time management skills
- CPA designation is a plus
