Commercial Lines Account Executive

Account Executive Overview The primary role of the Account Executive is responsibility for placement and client management on an assigned book of business, as well as guiding the Service team. If they are responsible for house accounts, they are also accountable for business development and retention for the house book of business. The Account Executive handles a more complex book of business, based on industry specialty, account revenue size and/or coverage complexity such as loss‑sensitive programs, large deductibles, captives or shared and layered programs. Implementing the "Fewer & Stronger" market consolidation initiative and negotiating the best terms and conditions for the client are essential duties. Key Responsibilities Overall Service, Placement and Business Development management on an assigned book of business. Business development and retention for assigned house accounts. Renewal strategy: selecting markets, conducting claims reviews, performing gap analysis, specifying coverage, and analyzing exposure information. Marketing, negotiating, writing executive summaries, reviewing proposals, and facilitating binding of new or renewal coverage. Daily client service: reviewing client contracts, communicating material coverage changes to carriers, understanding and conveying client service expectations, and serving as the escalation point for the client or RSC teams. New business: cross‑selling and account rounding on house business, assisting producers on prospective opportunities, participating in RFP presentations, and handling placement of prospects’ carrier and wholesaler relationships after information gathering. Carrier and wholesaler relationships: aligning RSC with partner carriers and intermediaries to place renewals with ideal markets and implementing the “Fewer & Stronger” consolidation initiative. Corporate citizenship: engaging in corporate initiatives, driving accountability and collaboration, maintaining documentation to mitigate E&O, and participating in corrective action following local compliance audits. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in a Property & Casualty brokerage environment. Deep technical knowledge of Property & Casualty business, loss‑sensitive, alternative risk transfer, and self‑insured retention programs. Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop carrier relationships. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Diplomacy, tact, and poise under pressure when working through issues. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to work efficiently in teams. Valid state‐issued P&C license.
