About the Role: The Sales Engineer serves as the technical partner to the Commercial Sales team, responsible for scoping and validating mobile and water system solutions. This role bridges the gap between customer requirements and the final sales contract, ensuring that every proposal is technically feasible and commercially accurate. The Sales Engineer works collaboratively within the Salesforce ecosystem to support forecasting, pipeline management, and seamless project handoffs.

This is a highly self-driven, ambitious, and results-oriented position requiring exceptional initiative and independent ownership. The Sales Engineer must proactively anticipate customer and business needs, aggressively pursue necessary information and practical solutions, independently advance priorities, and consistently follow through on commitments with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
\n
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Medical Equipment Planning, or Technical Sales.
\n
• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and accurately interpret architectural blueprints, mechanical site plans, P&IDs, and electrical/logic schematics.
\n
• MEP & Infrastructure Knowledge: Broad familiarity with facility infrastructure and common building standards (NEC, plumbing, fire codes). An understanding of the practical challenges of connecting complex equipment to existing hospital utility systems is strongly desired.
\n
• Systems & Controls: Working knowledge of mechanical control mechanisms (valves, gauges, sensors) and custom digital monitoring systems (basic sensor configuration and signal processing).  Expert-level is not required, but a strong, multi-disciplinary technical aptitude is essential.
\n
• Specialized Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with AAMI/ASHRAE/FGI guidelines or Sterile Processing (SPD) workflows is highly preferred. A foundational understanding of water purification technologies is a strong plus.
\n
• Stakeholder Interfacing: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate and troubleshoot with a wide variety of professionals—including hospital facility maintenance, SPD service technicians, architects, electricians, and plumbers.

Software Proficiency:

• CRM: Experience working collaboratively within Salesforce to manage technical data.
\n
• CAD: Proficiency in AutoCAD LT for 2D floor plan layouts.
\n
• Strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
\n

Essential Job Functions:

• Proposal Development: Proactively drive technical sales proposals by independently defining scope, identifying required inputs, aggressively pursuing missing information, and verifying equipment configurations prior to contract generation. 
\n
• Collaborative CRM Management: Take initiative in partnering with Sales Representatives to maintain accurate Salesforce opportunity data. Proactively resolve gaps in technical configurations, scoping notes, and product details to support reliable forecasting and pipeline reporting.
\n
• Technical Scoping & Layouts: Independently create preliminary 2D site layouts and room plans using AutoCAD LT, proactively identifying potential fit or workflow challenges and recommending practical solutions for customer approval.
\n
• Project Transition: Take ownership of the technical handoff of won projects to Project Management, Engineering, and Service teams. Proactively coordinate information and clarify the sold solution to prevent scope creep during execution.
\n
• Technical Sales Support: Actively serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) during customer presentations and video calls, confidently address engineering-related questions, anticipate customer needs, and proactively validate infrastructure requirements.
\n
• Regulatory Compliance: Independently verify proposed solutions against relevant healthcare standards (AAMI, FGI, ASHRAE) and facility constraints, proactively identify commercial risks, and aggressively pursue timely resolutions.

• This role may be performed remotely from a home office or via a hybrid schedule based out of the St. Johnsbury, VT facility.

• Standard business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time (EST). As the company serves customers nationwide across multiple time zones, flexibility is required. Occasional adjustments to work schedules, including earlier or later hours, may be necessary to accommodate customer needs and business demands.

• Remote employees are expected to maintain a professional home office environment that supports video conferencing, focused work, and the secure handling of customer information. MMIC provides all employees with a company-issued computer and mobile phone for business use.

• The role may require walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, kneeling, and reaching to access equipment. 
\n
• The role may require lifting, carrying, or moving equipment or materials (typically up to 20–30 lbs).
\n
• Work may involve exposure to occasional outdoor environmental conditions.
\n
• Travel Profile: Year 1 (Onboarding): Higher frequency of travel may be required to gain familiarity with product lines and manufacturing processes.
\n
• Ongoing: Travel stabilizes to approximately 40-50% for critical site assessments, trade shows, or corporate meetings.
