Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Business Development to lead referral development and drive census growth for our Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA). The ideal candidate will have established relationships within the healthcare community and a proven track record of increasing referrals from hospitals, physicians, rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and community partners.

• Develop and implement business development strategies to increase referrals and admissions.

• Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, including:

  • Hospitals and discharge planners

  • Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs)

  • Rehabilitation centers

  • Physician practices and medical groups

  • Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs)

  • Case managers and social workers

  • Managed Care Organizations (MLTCs) and healthcare partners

• Conduct regular in-person visits to referral sources to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.

• Represent the agency at networking events, healthcare conferences, and community outreach programs.

• Collaborate with clinical, intake, and operations teams to ensure a smooth referral and admission process.

• Meet and exceed monthly referral and census growth goals.

• Track business development activities, referral sources, and sales metrics using CRM tools.

• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years of business development experience within an LHCSA, home health agency, hospice, or related healthcare organization.

• Established network of referral sources within the New York healthcare market.

• Strong knowledge of the home care industry, referral process, and healthcare continuum.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and achieve growth targets.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
