Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand patients' emotional and psychological needs, particularly focusing on the complexities faced by older adults.

• Formulate and execute individualized treatment plans that consider the patient’s cognitive abilities, physical health conditions, and social environments.

• Apply a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy and family dynamics therapy, to address a spectrum of psychiatric conditions affecting elderly patients.

• Engage in collaborative treatment practices with geriatric psychiatrists and allied healthcare providers, promoting a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders and treatment strategies, ultimately empowering them to utilize available community resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be older adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. You will work closely with this demographic to understand their unique life experiences, emotional struggles, and physiological health situations, tailoring your therapeutic strategies to include family dynamics and support networks.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of an active and valid license as a LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, particularly working with geriatric populations.

• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of geriatric mental health issues and evidence-based treatment modalities.
