Work alongside dedicated educators to support students’ learning and growth as a contract paraprofessional in the Highland Park area and surrounding communities. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping students succeed in an inclusive, dynamic school environment.

Desired experience and qualities:

• Experience working as a school-based paraprofessional or in a similar role supporting classroom instruction
• Comfortable with various caseloads, including sub parapro assignments as needed
• Adaptability and a proactive approach to assisting students with diverse needs
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and students
• Must have open availability throughout the week to meet the varying needs of the school community

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students, including assistance with instructional activities and classroom routines
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students under the direction of classroom teachers
• Adapt to changing assignments, which may include working in different classrooms or age groups
• Foster a nurturing, positive environment that encourages student engagement and participation
• Assist with non-instructional tasks as needed to help create a supportive learning atmosphere
