Your Role at Baxter:

This role sits within Baxter's Corporate Finance organization and supports the company's SEC reporting and external financial reporting responsibilities. The team partners closely with Accounting, Consolidations, Technical Accounting, Investor Relations, Treasury, Legal, Tax, and executive leadership to help ensure the accuracy and completeness of Baxter's quarterly and annual filings. Team members gain broad exposure to the company's financial performance, major business initiatives, and regulatory reporting requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in SEC reporting, technical accounting, and corporate finance within a large public company environment.

The team works closely with Baxter's broader Controllership organization, creating opportunities to gain exposure beyond traditional SEC reporting activities. In addition to supporting Forms 10-K, 10-Q, earnings materials, and SEC filings, this individual will interact regularly with teams responsible for consolidations, technical accounting, stock compensation, pension accounting, business transactions, and special projects.

The environment is highly collaborative, and the team places a strong emphasis on training, development, and mentorship. New hires are given structured onboarding, are encouraged to ask questions, and are gradually given additional responsibilities as they become comfortable with the role and the reporting cycle.

This is a hybrid position based out of Deerfield, IL.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Prepare and support Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other SEC filings, including financial statements, MD&A, and footnote disclosures using Workiva.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of SEC filings and investor materials through detailed tie-outs and review procedures.
• Support quarterly earnings releases and investor presentations through financial analysis and collaboration with Investor Relations.
• Account for technical accounting areas, including stock-based compensation, pensions, restructuring, and other complex transactions.
• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support quarterly and annual external audits and related requests.
• Monitor GAAP and SEC developments and assist with implementing new accounting and disclosure requirements.
• Drive SOX compliance initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 2+ years of SEC reporting, financial reporting, or public accounting experience.
• Experience with technical accounting topics such as stock compensation, pension accounting, or financial reporting preferred.
• Strong technical accounting, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality, accuracy, and controls.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work flexible hours during key reporting periods.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
